Welcome Y'all!!
The Pink Lemonade Party is a special event held the third Thursday of October to bring awareness to the importance of early detection of Breast Cancer and is a fund raising benefit for The American Cancer Society, this event is sponsored by Taylorsville Florist and Gifts, Inc. The Pink Lemonade Party started in 2004 as a small shop party and has evolved into a street party with entertainment, a sidewalk dessert café, a raffle and a health fair. The Pink Lemonade Party was featured in the September 2009 issue of Mississippi Magazine where they described the Pink Lemonade Party as a party with a purpose.

Entertainment is provided by a host of local talented singers and by Jones on Stage a group from Jones County Junior College. The Sidewalk Dessert Café features a variety of desserts donated by the best home bakers in our town, these ladies provide a wonderful selection of tempting desserts to temp everyone! Be sure to have some pink lemonade too.

The raffle is a wonderful way to take a chance on some great items donated by our vendors and by the local businesses of our area. Local craftsmen also donate their handmade birdhouses, jewelry boxes and other crafts. Some of the items offered are Certificates to area restaurants, as well as certificates for grocery stores and gas stations.

Our vendors donate a variety of items from Vera Bradley, Hobo International, Lee Middleton Dolls, Arthur Court, Tervis Tumblers and a variety of other interesting items.

The raffle is the major fund raising part of the event.

The health fair is filled with health care professionals from local clinics and area hospitals, these exhibits are filled with important information on mammograms’and breast health care as well as overall health information and assistance programs for women’s health. Be sure to check out this very important part of the Pink Lemonade Party.

Breast Cancer is a cause very near and dear to us at Taylorsville Florist and Gifts, as all three generations that have worked and managed “the florist”; Lottie Butler, Anna Jean Butler Smith, and Connie Smith Ware, have faced and survived breast cancer. We know personally how important early detection and yearly mammograms can be for the survival of breast cancer and we encourage all men and women to be aware of any changes in their breast tissue. Be aware of changes, have yearly mammograms and seek immediate care for any changes in your breast.

Please join us each year for the Pink Lemonade Party, held the third Thursday afternoon of October, join the fun and festivity as we celebrate life and bring awareness to breast cancer.

All donations are given to the American Cancer Society. For more information on cancercontact the American Cancer Society.
